PM welcomes cooperation with Middle East-African countries

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has hailed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' initiative to hold a meeting with ambassadors from the Middle East and Africa to discuss expanding economic ties.

At a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for ambassadors from the Middle East and Africa, Mr. Phuc said that in its foreign policy, Vietnam always attaches great importance to friendship and cooperation with Middle Eastern and African people. Last year trade between Vietnam and Middle Eastern and African nations was worth 22.5 billion USD.

Although that figure was 4 times the trade total in 2010, Prime Minister Phuc called the achievement modest compared with the huge potential. He urged the ambassadors and diplomatic missions to boost cooperation.
