President calls for further cooperation with Micronesia

President Tran Dai Quang has suggested that Vietnam and Micronesia increase cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, tourism, oil and gas development, and education and training.

The President made the call at a reception for Micronesian Speaker of Congress Wesley W. Simina in Hanoi on Friday. He said Vietnam treasures the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Micronesia, hoping that both sides will boost the trade of agricultural produce and machinery and consumption products as well as investment in infrastructure, tourism, and telecommunications. President Quang applauded Micronesia for supporting Vietnam's non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in the 2008-2009 period and Vietnam's new bid to the Council in the 2020-2021 period.
