President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday lauded Lang Son northern province for its effort to maintain a border of peace, friendship and development with China. At Wednesday meeting with provincial authorities, President Phuc highlighted Lang Son’s strategic position in national trade and investment development and asked the locality to exploit its advantages, pay attention to security and defense, and prevent crime, smuggling, and trade fraud. Lang Son, he said, needs to take more appropriate steps to manage import and export goods.
Highlighting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, President Phuc said building a shared border of peace, clearance stability, and development is of extreme importance.
He urged Lang Son’s departments and agencies to maintain a sense of responsibility for establishing, preserving, and promoting friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Guangxi province and other parts of China.
President Phuc called for more cross-border exchanges between agencies, and coordination in facilitating the passage of goods and people through border gates.
President Phuc was in Lang Son to attend a meeting to mark the 190th founding anniversary of the province, and visited officers and soldiers at Huu Nghi International Border Gate.
