Public awareness on anti-drug regulations raised

The Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi have held a meeting in response to a month of action on drug control and addict rehabilitation for a healthy community.

Addressing the event on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam urged ministries, agencies and provinces to consider drug control a constant task.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Duy Ngoc warned of complicated cross-border drug related crimes after pandemic related restriction.

He said: “We need to strengthen prevention measures to minimize newly addicted and drug-related crimes. Ministries, agencies and provinces should promote legal communications on drug control and serious consequences of violations of drug-related crimes, drug-related harms, especially new psychoactive substances. Communications must focus on the youth, students, and the vulnerable while mobilizing all-out efforts in drug control activities.”
