Russian President attends Eastern Economic Forum
Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged tight security in the Asia-Pacific region to prevent new conflicts, and resolve old ones through dialogue.
At the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russia on Wednesday, Putin said this is the approach Russia has promoted and will continue to promote at all international forums, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), APEC, and ASEAN.
Putin said protectionism is on the rise around the world, posing a challenge to global trade.
He said it is important that North Korea receive international guarantees of security in return for its denuclearizing.
