Shrimp exports to RoK surge sharply

VGP – Viet Nam’s shrimp exports to the Republic of Korea (RoK) increased by 50.2% against the same period last year, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

The RoK has so far this year imported 19,646 tons of shrimps from Viet Nam worth US$ 205.3 million, showing a surge of 50.2% in volume and 87.2% in value.

Viet Nam became the leading shrimp exporter in the Korean market by holding 33-44% of the market share.

So far, the RoK was the fifth largest shrimp importer of Viet Nam after the US, Japan, the EU and China and accounted for 7.9% of the total value./.
