South Korean President highlights role of ASEAN, EU, Russia

South Korean President Moon Jae-in underlined the importance of good diplomatic relations with Asian and European nations, including ASEAN and Russia, in a meeting on Monday with his special envoys to the regions.

Moon said the ASEAN countries form the second-most-important region in the world for South Korea in terms of trade and investment. The region is also most visited by South Korean people. Moon also stressed the importance of Russia, especially in denuclearization on the Korean peninsula, adding that a meeting between representative Song Young-gil of the ruling Democratic Party and Russian President Vladimir Putin on dealing with the North's provocations was fruitful.
