Tran Thanh Man appointed VFF President

Tran Thanh Man has been appointed as President of the 8th Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC).

He replaces Nguyen Thien Nhan, who was appointed to Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City last month. Mr. Man delivered his inaugural speech at the 7th Congress of the 8th VFFCC in Hanoi on Thursday: The Front should represent the people, and accompany the people. It should also encourage innovations, rally intellectuals, businesspeople, religious dignitaries, prestigious ethnic people, and overseas Vietnamese to create consensus and a united strength for national sustainable development. The Front is a political alliance of people and represents people's legitimate rights and interests.

The Congress appointed Nguyen Huu Dung, who is Chairman of Quang Tri province's Fatherland Front, to Vice President of the VFFCC.
