UK parliament votes to begin Brexit process

Legislation which will give UK Prime Minister Theresa May the right to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, the legal first step for leaving the EU, was passed by a vote of 498 to 114 in the House of Commons on Wednesday. The bill will now pass to the House of Lords, the UK's upper house.
