UN calls on young people to help realize a better future for all

The 6th Youth Forum has concluded at the UN headquarters in New York, focusing on the youth's role in poverty reduction, and promoting prosperity in a changing world.

In a video message to the forum, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres drew the youth attention to challenges, confronting young people around the world such as climate change, unemployment, and inequality. He also called on young people to speak up and share their stories. The UN Secretary-General stressed that young people are also on the vanguard of progress - as entrepreneurs, activists and community leaders. Mr. Antonio Guterres said the youth inspire the change as they have the talent, energy and ideals to prevent conflicts, defend human rights, secure peace and realize the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and that the youth's messages will help "create a safer and more stable world for all."
