UN lauds Houthi’s offer to halt attacks on Saudi Arabia

United Nations envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths on Saturday welcomed an offer from Houthi rebels to halt all attacks on Saudi Arabia.

He said the offer can send a strong message of the determination to end the war in Yemen.

The war started 5 years ago between the Houthi rebel, who has been controlling Yemen's capital city of Sanaa, and an internationally recognized coalition led by Saudi Arabia.

The conflict has killed tens of thousands and put millions into starvation. This is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, according to the UN.
