US ready to use all available measures to address North Korea issue issue

President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone Saturday and agreed to work together on a crisis on the Korean Peninsula.

The White House said in a statement that the two leaders discussed the need to confront the increasingly dangerous situation associated with North Korea's destabilizing and escalatory behavior."

President Trump reiterated the US commitment to stop the North Korean nuclear menace. He said Washington is ready to work with allies and partners to enforce United Nations sanctions and achieve denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The same day, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said London wants to have a diplomatic solution to the crisis on the Korean Peninsula.

In a series of posting on his Twitter feed, the Foreign Secretary said the North Korean regime is the cause of this problem and they must fix it. The international community is shoulder to shoulder in ensuring North Korea stops its aggressive acts. He wrote London is working with the US and other partners in the region to bring this crisis to a diplomatic end.

The EU said it will convene an extraordinary meeting on Monday to discuss the escalating tension on the peninsula. EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will chair the union's meeting to discuss issues relating to North Korea.
