Vietnam, Australia promote strategic partnership
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop have evaluated the fruitful development of bilateral relations over recent years.
During a reception in Hanoi on Monday, Prime Minister Phuc called for early implementation of the joint statement on establishing a Strategic Partnership issued in mid-March during his official visit to Australia. He also hoped that the two countries will further people exchanges, and cooperation in culture, education, training, tourism and other fields. Around 30,000 Vietnamese people are currently studying in Australia, a factor in the promotion of bilateral ties.
Ms. Bishop emphasized the importance of translating the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership into reality. She said she was pleased to know more and more Australian investors are doing business in Vietnam and that Australia wants to step up collaboration with Vietnam in many areas, particularly innovation.
