Vietnam improves its participation in UN peacekeeping operations

On Monday, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center, the UN, and the Ministry of Defense organized a training course for UN peacekeeping trainers.

In his address, the Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center Colonel Hoang Kim Phung said Vietnam had officially participated in UN peacekeeping operations in 2014. So far, 12 Vietnamese soldiers have been sent to UN missions in South Sudan and Central Africa. Those who have completed missions have been highly acknowledged by the UN and Vietnam has proactively trained and purchased the necessary equipment to prepare for missions. The course is aimed at improving training capacity for UN peacekeeping operations and takes place from October 24 to November 4.
