Vietnam may need 12 more months to recover from COVID-19: Nielsen

Vietnam is recovering its economy after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and it will take about 12 more months to reach a pre-pandemic growth rate, according to Nielsen, a global market research firm based in New York.

Nguyen Tan Vuong, Director of Retail Measurement Services at Nielsen Vietnam, told the Vietnam Online Business Forum (VOBF) 2022 on Tuesday that the recovery period might be shortened with good governance.

He said that although the majority of people have been affected by the pandemic, it has also had a positive impact on e-commerce participation as it forms a “launch pad” for e-commerce to thrive in the coming time, contributing to economic recovery.
