Vietnam, US strengthen cooperation on crime fighting

Vietnam and the US have worked to strengthen cooperation on crime fighting.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, met a delegation led by David Bowdich, US deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Hanoi on Wednesday. The two sides agreed to negotiate a framework for criminal judicial cooperation and exchange information on fighting transnational crime. They pledged to strengthen bilateral cyber security cooperation.

Following the meeting, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, received Mr. Bowdich, who said the US will work to further the friendship between the US and Vietnam in the interest of national security.
