VIETNAM’S PETROL, OIL IMPORTS RISE IN 2017

HANOI, Vietnam, Vietnam imported over 12.8 million tonnes of oil and petroleum products, worth seven billion U.S. dollars this year, seeing respective year-on-year surges of 9.2 percent and 37.7 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vietnam imported roughly 1.4 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas worth 732 million U.S. dollars, up 13.4 percent in volume, and up 48 percent in value, the country's General Statistics Office said, on Friday.

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company, which runs Vietnam's biggest oil refinery, Dung Quat, in central Quang Ngai province, estimated that, the country's annual demand for petroleum products, will stand at some 6.5 million tonnes, and for diesel around 8.5 million tonnes in the 2018-2022 period.
