VN-China Friendship Association holds congress in HN

The Viet Nam-China Friendship Association convened the 6th Congress (2017 � 2022 term) on August 3 in Ha Noi in the presence of Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh.

Addressing the Congress, Deputy PM, FM Minh stressed that Viet Nam extremely respects the friendly ties with China, regarding this as a strategic selection and top priority in its foreign policy.

According to Mr. Minh, the bilateral ties have been maintained and developed following regular contacts of senior leaders. Both sides also reached important awareness of political trust; improved cooperation efficiency; and properly handled disagreements.

In addition, ministerial and local cooperation has been closer. Economic and commercial ties witnessed new developments, thus bringing back practical benefits for the two countries.

Deputy PM Minh said that people-to-people exchanges provide a social foundation and play an extremely significant role in consolidating mutual understanding, friendly relations and cooperation.

Mr. Minh urged the Viet Nam-China Friendship Association to work with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign

Countries to diversify activities and disseminate the bilateral ties./.
