Australian volunteers contribute to Vietnam’s development

Australian volunteers have contributed to the success of organizations in Vietnam and to Vietnam's growth, said Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick at a ceremony on Tuesday to mark the International Volunteer Day, December 5.

Mr. Chittick praised the volunteers as goodwill ambassadors who have fostered bilateral ties.

Since 1973, more than 1,000 Australian volunteers have worked in Vietnam, mostly in education and training, community development, the private sector, agriculture, gender equality, and healthcare.
