Japan, India arrange two-plus-two Dialogue

Japan will start preparations for ‘two-plus-two’ talks between its foreign and defence ministers and their Indian counterparts early September, the Nikkei reported on Thursday.

At the first ‘two-plus-two’ talk between Japan and India in September 2019, both sides adopted a joint statement confirming joint military drills. Japan and India have promoted their second “two-plus-two Dialogue” after Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s first visit to India in March.

India and Japan have built a multifaceted partnership as partners of the special and global strategic partnership. They signed a joint declaration on a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific by 2015, with a vision to 2025.
